MEDIA: Connecticut United Ways 2018 ALICE Report

**MEDIA ALERT**
A Study of Financial Hardship in Connecticut

Download the embargoed 2018 ALICE Report.

The 2018 ALICE Report takes a deeper look at the growing financial challenges that require more and more working and middle class families to make tough choices every day as they manage their household budget. The new ALICE Report indicates that 30%, up from 27% in 2016, of Connecticut’s households show earnings above the Federal Poverty Level but below that required to adequately support a household. It documents how the cost of living is outpacing wage increases for many jobs in Connecticut and looks at trends that are impacting ALICE’s ability to make ends meet. ALICE lives and works in every town and city in our state. ALICE is our neighbor, friend and family member. Connecticut United Ways are committed to helping ALICE achieve a more secure financial future.
